Message from the Director
Talbot County Department of Emergency Services is built on a strong tradition of service, professionalism, and collaboration. Our team is committed to providing exceptional emergency communications, emergency medical services, and emergency management programs to the residents and visitors of Talbot County. We recognize that the trust placed in us during moments of crisis is both an honor and a responsibility, and we approach that responsibility with dedication every day.
At the heart of our operations is a commitment to delivering timely, accurate, and coordinated services when they are needed most. Achieving this requires continuous training, thoughtful planning, strong policies, and a culture of accountability and improvement. Through regular evaluation, exercises, and innovation, we strive to ensure that our personnel and systems remain prepared to meet both everyday emergencies and large-scale incidents.
We are fortunate to work in a community that strongly supports public safety. The partnership and guidance provided by the Talbot County Council, the Talbot County Paramedic Foundation, the Emergency Services Advisory Board, and the Local Emergency Planning Committee play an important role in our continued success. Equally vital are the relationships we share with our volunteer fire and rescue companies, law enforcement agencies, healthcare partners, community organizations, and neighboring jurisdictions. Together, these partnerships create a coordinated and resilient emergency services system.
As we look toward the future, our focus remains on continuous improvement, innovation, and strengthening the capabilities of our organization. We are committed to serving with integrity, professionalism, compassion, and respect, while always working to enhance the safety and well-being of the community we serve.
It is my privilege to lead the dedicated men and women of Talbot County Emergency Services, and we remain steadfast in our mission to protect, assist, and support our community whenever and wherever we are needed.
Respectfully,
Brian LeCates
